Supporting our crowdfunding campaign

Our crowdfunding campaign is now live

How can you support our campaign?

The countdown clock has started ticking.

On the 15th of September at 0900 our crowd funding campaign will be launching.

We’re taking on big healthcare companies and organisations that have allowed the situation to persist and get worse. With you and your support the Andiamo team is going not just going to change that but do it with style and beauty.

By coordinating outreach and by lending us your voice you’ll help us hit a global audience really quickly.

We will be updating this when the campaign goes live.

We must find 250 to launch this big burst to the world on the campaign launch day

Lend us your voice here.

Let’s go change the world.

Background

Our experience as parents of a disabled child has shown how critical orthoses are to these children’s development and well-being. Without equipment like a back brace children with scoliosis can have trouble feeding, breathing, and engaging in education.

The current process is highly stressful, time consuming and error prone. Whilst also taking up to 28 weeks to receive an often ill-fitting orthosis.

Orthotics are used to treat problems caused by many conditions such as cerebral palsy and spina bifida or those that have experienced spinal injuries, a stroke, or side effects from chemotherapy.

There are approximately two million people in the UK and approximately 100 million worldwide that need an orthosis.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a way of raising funding by asking a large number of people each for a small amount of money. Until recently, financing a business, project or venture involved asking a few people for large sums of money. Crowdfunding switches this idea around, using the Internet to talk to thousands – if not millions – of potential funders.

We are working with the team at a major crowdfunding platform called Indiegogo to launch our campaign on 15th September 2014.

Crowdfunding allows you to tailor your support to fit your means. It has tiers of backing that we can create from as little as £1 to a whopping big number depending on how much we need to raise. Depending on how much you give, you will get a reward from us to say thank you for your support.

What crowdfunding isn’t.

Ultimately Andiamo aims to solve the orthotics problem globally and we cannot do that as a charity. Only a viable business can build the service and technical infrastructure required to take on and solve such big challenges.

Your support is not a charitable donation or a purchase of equity but rather support to build a
sustainable business tackling complex health problems.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our service needs to be built from the ground up in the UK first. We live and breath people-centred design and believe there is no better way to fund Andiamo than with the involvement of the community.

During our market and user research phase, we have recognised that Andiamo is deemed by traditional investors as a risky venture as we aim to disrupt an industry that hasn’t changed in over a hundred years.

Our potential customers are telling us that they want to see this service so we aim to pre-sell the service. This will help prove market traction and be used to attract the next round of funding or investment towards a fully operational service.
